Essential Tips to Buying a Home in Thailand Part 2

The best lesson I learned about buying a home in Thailand is that it really pays big time to think through exactly what you're doing before you go do it. This may sound common sense, but believe me, it's easy to get big headed about spending a lot of money in Thailand - especially when you have a substantial income from a western country!

It's easy to get ambitious when your dollar is worth many times the Thai baht! Overnight you're a millionaire (in Thailand at least), and you can build a huge home with no expenses spared, using all the best materials money can buy. But wait a second - before you go do it, here's a few things to keep in mind...

The first thing is that you should be careful about over-spending, and keep to some sort of budget. Sometimes materials and prices of things (builders, carpenters, wall tiles, cement and furnishings for example) can fluctuate wildly. One day you're paying $300 for those beautiful doors, and tomorrow you're charged $700 for the same thing. Ouch. You ordered, they delivered.

The other thing that can catch you out is falling into the trap of impressing everyone around you with your wealth, and beautiful new home. Sometimes it's better to stick to the budget, and just build your home to lockup stage - and do the interior essentials (like painting and furniture buying, and that essential hot tub) down the track a little, or at a later date.

Ultimately it's better to get the home completed (albeit in a simple style), so at least you can move in and start living the great Thai life, rather than stressing out over building and material costs because you blew out your budget. The point is to crunch your numbers carefully. Don't be tempted by the emotional 'got to have the best home in the street' side of things and you'll do well with your new Thai home!

Cheap Hotels in Bangkok, Thailand apartment the ideal value for money

Bangkok is one of the most affordable cosmopolitan city to visit in Southeast Asia. And even though Bangkok has some of the best luxury accommodations in the world, it's the very good quality budget hotels that has attracted the attention of frugal holiday makers from all over the world.

There are many budget hotels in Bangkok and usually the best ones are found in the center of the city, in popular districts such as Silom and Sukhumvit. Another area with affordable lodgings is in the old district called Banglampoo, where Khao San Road has been drawing young backpackers in for years, though the area is seeing an increase on better quality hotels.

Even though Banglampoo is near many of the city's old historical attractions some may find it too far and not so easy to get to central Bangkok, which is the heart of the city's activity. So for most it's better to stay in central Bangkok, where visitors can benefit from the city's efficient train systems that run along Silom and Sukhumvit districts.

And though most would think that staying in a hotel in the center of the city will cost a lot that's not always the case. For example Sawasdee Langsuan Inn is one of the most affordable budget hotels close to the poshest luxury stores and expensive 5 star hotels. A standard room there during the low season only cost 900 baht and the room rate includes a simple breakfast.

Another budget hotel to consider is the City Lodge 19 right on Sukhumvit Road, near BTS Sky Train station. The position is very comfortable, surrounded by many companies catering to foreigners. In addition, two nightlife districts of Bangkok and naughty the best bars and clubs.

There are many cheap hotels in Bangkok are available. Although keep in mind that the best prices are, if you book in low season, from April to October. And where a local agency that can book hotels in Bangkokhelp you locate the best hotel deals.

Thailand Vacation - Part 1

I live here in Thailand, and have been for almost two years. Many of my friends in America are always asking me questions like what to do and where should I stay. Let me see if I can help a bit '. After thinking about this need, I will have more than one post. So here is the first.

All centers more or less if you are single or traveling with his family. There are some places in Thailand where it is more or less, that this is nottake your family. I would suggest that Pattaya is not a place to take your family. Pattaya is almost but not quite, a singles haven. Lots of adult oriented entertainment, ie; go-go bars featuring topless dancers and sometimes nude dancers, and a plethora of prostitutes. "Although the government of Thailand says there are no prostitutes." :-) I have to put in a word here, that there are family's vacationing in Pattaya. There are some family entertainment here, sailing, fishing, wave riders, para-sailing, etc., but by and large, it's mostly adult oriented.

I would suggest the best family area's are, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok. These places are geared more for family. Concerning hotels. When you google up hotel suggestions, you pretty much see the top end hotel ranges. Try googleing, "cheap hotels". It's my opinion, the Suhkumvit area of Bangkok has more reasonable priced hotels, and it's easier to get around from that part of town. Especially near the Nana and Asoke area. These two areas have easy access to the Skytrain overhead and underground stations. There are a lot of shopping malls, restaurants and internet cafes. There are far too many tourists in this area, but sometimes a good thing, because there is virtually no crime in that area, the police frown on tourists arriving in Thailand, and English is spoken quite well here.

As for May Chiang, try a hotel near the centerthe large central square. There you will be near everything; shopping, night market, pubs, restaurants, travel guides, etc.

I'm not that familiar with Phuket, but would suggest you stay in central Phuket near the beaches.

The weather here in Thailand is always nice, if not always a little warm, although depending on the time of year, it can get a little cool in the evening. Wear light clothes. Walking shorts, short sleeve shirts, comfortable walking sandals. You will probably do a lot of walking, so bring your favorite, comfortable footwear. Bring a light sweater or jacket for some evenings. Don't worry about not bringing enough, you can find anything you want here, which goes also with toilet articles. Don't over pack, you can find soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, umbrella's, in fact, almost everything. So don't over pack. There are bookstores galore in the Suhkumvit area, so you can find all your maps and travel guides there.

I have probably left something out, but will try to work on in my next post.

Things you should know before going to Thailand

Thailand has three seasons, in fact,

November-February = Hot.

March-May = hot and humid.

June-October = hot and humid (rainy season)

Every time you go it's hot. Be sure to pack light cotton shirts sandals, shorts and wear them. Thailand may be mainly a random deal, but if you live in temples or the palace you need. Men do not wear short pants and long sleeves are preferred. Ladies, shorts, skirts orTops. If you are in Thailand for a couple of weeks you will notice the need for a couple of showers a day (which can be hot) What does a few clothes. At each corner is a cure for her Thai laundry clothes at reasonable prices will be held. The hotels offer the same service, but at much higher prices and are used to take around the corner to the same store! You will also find many markets selling clothes so cheap does not want to pack ... save roomJewels you are bringing back.

As far as cosmetics go, it can cost you will find everything in Thailand. So if you want more you can not live without a favorite all of your supplies at stores like 7 / 11, Four Care and Tesco or receive. No need to add any extra weight and buy new toiletries for the trip, when you are there to get a lot cheaper.

When the hot air you find yourself drinking more water than usual, probably. Do not drink tap water. BrushingTeeth and washing is in order, and ice cubes in shops and restaurants. The Thai people drink bottled water for the most part and can be very cheap, especially the Thai brands.

Food is everywhere and in tourist areas you get everything and anything, from lasagna may Lobster Thermador, and all the fast food you could want. Then there is the extraordinary amount of various Thai dishes and fruit. When you come so far for the experience, so do not let the Thai Kitchenpass, as it is the best in the world, without exception, and it is good for you, for the most part. Do not be afraid to try different things and do not worry, it could be good, you'll never know until you try. Not all Thai food is spicy, but you can request that the courts are less well prepared.

Bathrooms have already covered in "the art of using a Thai toilet." If you are prepared, especially in tourist areas, you are probably only in Western-style toilets are but a few things. The number oneBath may not have toilet paper and there will be a pipe near the toilet with a rinsing at the end, as you have in your kitchen sink to see. This is used to clean and it works quite well. We recommend that you carry around some napkins or fabric up to the situation in the country. You will often see if there is toilet paper available, indicating non-flush on paper, but the payment was made in the bucket or can be made available. Please enter the characters says. Thailand sewers unable to manage andcan cause problems quickly. Also, if the hose is then connected to the paper in essence, already cleaned.

The outside world is simply in contact with it are everywhere in stores and Internet shops for mobile phone calls abroad. Most hotels also offer these services, but also pay more for them. If you are using a mobile phone, a SIM card, you have released it in many different stores, you can have a Thai SIM card and call home. Ask the person who unlockedset it up for you and for phone calls home will be cheap! When you come home to swap SIM cards in your old and ready to go ... and one advantage is that you're now it works on any phone network.

These are just some things to consider when you go on your first trip. Do not sweat the small stuff, because in Thailand you will be able to find things for most of you can find cheaper at home, alone.

I will be adding a series of articles in the field. In the next round of this typethe article I'll know more in the city, hotels, markets and nightlife. It would probably be a good idea for tourists and various fraud ... Forewarned is prepared to touch.

Homestay Experience in Thailand?

So you're interested in an experience in Thailand with the family in a mountain community north of the rural communities? Sounds good! Remember, do not expect hotels or luxury type. Be prepared for rather basic accommodations without much comfort. Most likely your shower is very rudimentary and consist of a bucket of cold water which is empty on yourself, and your bathroom is the traditional Thai hut, which is low to the ground and do not flushOf course, it must induce a bucket or two of water to pour flush the toilet. Do not worry if you have selected the right host family, you get to a room a very rustic, but clean with a double function. Do you have any anticipation of restaurant-style meals are prepared gourmet food, delicious and healthy. The ladies of the village, which will prepare the meals, cooks will most likely experienced and familiar with its culinary traditions. If you are vegetarian, they shouldable to welcome you.

Just a tip - if you get a community Hilltribe - that Akha, Hmong, Lisu, Lahu, Karen or Mien, it would not hurt to do some research before their culture and history.

I have no personal experience in Thailand if I had the opportunity to make a site visit mountains with a relatively new host family in about an hour's drive from Chiang Mai, the tourist center of Northern Thailand. Rooms were simpleand small, as expected, but very clean and had a lovely pool with sun terrace next to a small area in the room to establish your personal belongings.

The villagers grow tea and coffee, both nearby and many of the communities were used in farming and other agricultural purposes. An analysis of the gift shop of the goods in your community, I bought a special neck pillow, filled with aromatic green tea. For some strange reason, I thought that the United StatesCustoms would tear them apart looking for marijuana, but did not disappoint.
